This Saturday 2 September the Mar Dulce Gallery will inaugurate "Casitas", its most recent exhibition that brings together the works created by the artist María Elina.

With free entry, this exhibition – which means the artist's fourth individual- can be appreciated until 14 October at the venue located in Uriarte 1490, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo.

In this opportunity, the public will have the possibility of appreciating a total of 16 works of Maria Elina, gouache paintings on paper.

"Casitas" is an exhibition that reflects a selection of properties that, of nothing, break into the landscape. This is how the extraordinary tiny house of the Canadian folk artist Maud Lewis and the maison-atelier of the French-Japanese painter Léonard Foujita parade, the residence in Tigre of the novelist Haroldo Conti and another small house in the delta that was the much-loved vacation home of the artist.

Closer to the artist's home in the city, there is the typical neighborhood house that was left alone between the highway and the modern apartments. Is the house in the Fukushima nuclear exclusion zone, now overflowing with living nature and another at Pringles which the inhabitants keep in constant state of rescue from collapse. The habitants, as gratitude, they would take their meals out of it on the grass facing the trees. From there it occurred to the artist to add an element from the outside to each painting because one always leaves with a little piece of home on their backs..

María Elina Méndez is an artist from Buenos Aires graduated from the Image and Sound Design career., at the University of Buenos Aires and complemented his studies with various projects and workshops related to photography, plastic arts, set design and illustration. For four years he was part of the set design workshop of the Teatro General San Martín until he decided to dedicate himself entirely to drawing., paint and illustrate.

From the 2011 is part of Mar Dulce Gallery, where he made the individual samples "Amos del Jardín" (2012), “Sola” (2016) and "An Island" (2019). Has published in Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Spain, France and Portugal.
