More of 65 thousand people enjoyed the Art Week

The Ministry of Culture of the City reported that more than 65 thousand people were part of the Art Week, meeting that has just finished its third edition.

In this way and throughout eight days, contemporary art became part of the urban landscape, transforming its meaning and opening dialogues between various works and citizens. In addition to 10 pieces of art located in different parts of the city, there was an enormous program in which performances stood out, who, conversations, bike rides and an unprecedented audiovisual experience at the Teatro Colón.

Organized jointly with the Medifé Foundation, The streets and spaces were intervened, displaying a huge free program of artistic proposals and events that invited the public to meet contemporary art in different parts of the City of Buenos Aires. 27 from september to 4 October.

In the words of Enrique Avogadro, Buenos Aires Minister of Culture, “Art Week is an event that creates a coexistence between spaces, artistic expressions and audiences” and added: “We are very happy that, once again, Art Week has managed to publicize the work of our artists, giving them visibility and bringing their works closer to the public by placing them in the streets and public spaces of a City that overflows with cultural talent. We were also able to enjoy an extensive program”.

One of the great activities that could be enjoyed at SDA, It was “Your Party Ides”, a performance in tribute to Ides Khilen, the longest active Argentine artist. The public approached and bordered the center of the basement of the Casa de la Cultura to be part of an experience that fused dance, poetry and experimental music.

Under the direction of Andrea Saltiel, artistic director of Prodanza, the program of the Impulso Cultural platform, contemporary artists reverted the original work of Mayra Bonard and Carlos Casella.

At the San Martin Cultural Center, through BA Audiovisual, a unique screening of "Three in the Creative Act's Deriva" was held within the programming, el último largometraje de Fernando “Pino” Solanas, which was attended by Luis Felipe "Yuyo" Noé himself -one of the film's protagonists-.

Activations were carried out around the works "The mysteries of Udolfo" by Verónica Gómez in Colón Fábrica; "Grand Witch's Pyre" from Taboo Totem in the Botanical Garden; “Plantasia” by Ricas at the General San Martín Theater; “Cartoneros de 11” by Esmeralda Mugre at the Teatro de la Ribera; “Mi Sueño” del colectivo artístico Benjamín y Felipe Álvarez en la Plaza Primero de Mayo; “Un caballito se escapa” de Julián D’Angiolillo en el Parque Rivadavia; “Fechorías” del colectivo artístico Lolo y Lauti en la Casa de la Cultura y “Urdimbre” de Silvina Babich en el Edificio Zelaya; con los autores presentes para profundizar sobre las mismas, en diálogo con vecinos, vecinas y turistas que se acercaron a ver.
