"My Party", work of Mayra Bonard and Carlos Casella, online version
Crossing monologues and physically demanding actions, "My Party" is a staging that speaks in the first person about curiosity, the body, sex and ferocity. In this context, it does so by building a dialogue between alterity and the confessional, where the body is own and alien at the same time.
The protagonist (Mayra Bonard, who also contributes the autobiographical accounts) is the subject of self-experimentation, draws a map of sensory memory and creates a scenic experience with political resonance on the female body.
This show a project was produced in 2018 by TACEC -Center for Experimentation and Creation of the Argentine Theater of La Plata-, co-produced by the San Martín Cultural Center, and subsidized by Prodanza. It was premiered at TACEC in May 2018 and then he did a season at the Cultural San Martín.
Now, will be available online from Thursday 20 Sunday 23 of August, with tickets for sale through the TicketHoy site.
According to Pedro Mairal, responsible for the texts of the work, “´Mi Fiesta´ reveals the impossible to know in others: absolute privacy. Private darkness makes public ". In that context, "A woman empowers herself in her rituals, is tied and unleashed in the trances of physical experience, walk on the thin ice of unconsciousness, in a loop of autobiographical dreams and recurring scenes ".
“Reviewing initiatory memories, his body now becomes his own object, capable of various powers. In fragility, in its glass box, in its ephemeral harmony, the volatile self fades, dissolves in motion, in bewilderment and in an exploded narrative. The body is the only thing you see, trapped in its tactile dimension, exploring the materials, treading the passages between elevation of grace and dissonant disruption. Always in performative uncertainty, in question state, occupying the space of mystery, like a bird that has just flown ".
