Independent Milongas of the City will receive financial support

Through Bamilonga, the Cultural Boost program of the Ministry of Culture of the City, a total of 89 Independent milongas of the City of Buenos Aires were selected to be able to access emergency economic support in the face of Covid-19 for cultural operation and management.

In that context, to those 89 selected will be added 9 more to be announced hereafter, adding a total of 98 milongas entities that will receive 16.200.000 of pesos.

Bamilonga, is the program designed to design and implement protection mechanisms, strengthening, encouragement and promotion of milonga activity in the City.

Each project will receive on average $160.000. Likewise, the originally contemplated budget of 10.800.000 had an extraordinary increase of 5.400.000 due to the difficult economic situation in the sector generated by the Covid health emergency 19, reaching a total amount of 16.200.000.

Milongas organizers registered in the Register of Unofficial Milongas Activity and Milonga Halls were able to register for this subsidy or with a process initiated according to the Law 2.323 registered in the Unofficial Milongas Activity Register, and whose main activity is the Milongas Organization.

At the same time, via Proteatro, the 2 of July, 120 Independent theatrical halls and spaces of the City of Buenos Aires were already able to access financial support for a total of $ 44.773.000. From the 15 of August, at the same time, The second call to Proteatro is open.

The 14 of August, through an agreement signed with the Argentine Association of Actors, 1268 Workers in the sector received exceptional financial reinforcement support for a total of $ 9.000.000.

From Bamúsica, the 11 of August, 40 clubs have already received reinforcement financial support for a total of $ 18.180.610. By last, is already open -since 15 of August- the second call to this program.
