The City and Arthaus presented “La Lizard”: an artistic intervention carried out by the renowned Cordovan muralist Tec, on the asphalt of Bartolomé Miter street.

It is a painting almost two blocks long that works as a metaphor for the resurrection of the area, and trace a path full of color to the entrance of the Arthaus cultural space.

This embodiment comprises 120 meters long in the shape of a lizard - a "symbol of the resurrection of the microcenter in the post-pandemic period", as explained by its creator-, that runs along Bartolomé Miter street - between Florida and Reconquista- filling it with color, tracing a path that ends at the door of the new artistic space Arthaus (Bartholomew Miter 434).

Through actions like this, The City seeks the artistic and cultural resignification of the emblematic downtown area, recognizing it as a site of federal identity and a key space for residents and tourists.

"La Lizard" is the product of six days of work by the muralist, that took as its starting point the great regenerative capacity of this species to develop the work. Together with his team, the Cordovan artist internationally recognized for innovating and expanding the street art scene, he painted from midnight to dawn each day to avoid traffic in the area.

According to what was indicated by Tec, "Lately there has been a kind of invasion of lizards in the City and Province of Buenos Aires that must be, according to specialists, at high temperatures. These animals are harmless and have a good coexistence with humans. They are also known for their ability to remain motionless under the sun for many hours..

“Spiritually, lizards have several meanings: some related to luck and resurrection, something tuned for this post-pandemic period. About its appearance with high temperatures, our intention is to generate a reflection on climate change and its consequences”, finished the artist.
