The album features previously released singles 'Build It Better', ‘Maybe It’s Great’ y ‘On My Way’, along with new songs including the song that gives the album its name "Firebird".

About this, the singer detailed that it was written about “how we often try to press down on our vulnerabilities and put a tough face on it, but, actually, when you embrace that fragile side of yourself, that's where you find true strength ".

"Firebird" was written in a variety of international locations with The Strokes' Albert Hammond Jr., Romeo Stodart de The Magic Numbers, KT Tunstall, Eg White (Adele, Dua Lipa, Sam Smith), Luke Fitton (Little Mix, Girls Aloud) , Fiona Bevan (One Direction, Ed Sheeran), Rachel Furner (Little Mix, Jason Derulo, Craig David).

Conversely, the album was recorded almost entirely in isolation, remotely produced by Natalie Imbruglia and My Riot with additional production by Albert Hammond Jr, Gus Oberg (The Strokes, Albert Hammond Jr) and Romeo Stodart (The Magic Numbers).
