New edition of the Han Cine festival, with the best of Korean Seventh Art
Between 6 and the 26 September will take place a new edition of the traditional Korean Han Cinema festival, that will bring online the best of the Seventh Art of the aforementioned Asian country.
The proposal is presented by the National Museum of Fine Arts, under the organization of the Korean Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and can be enjoyed through the platform Cine.Ar PLAY.
This time they will be 13 The films selected for the cycle that this year celebrates its eighth edition and that reflect the contemporary Korean scene. It should be noted that this festival also has the support of the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA), the Seoul Independent Film Festival and ARSAT technical support.
According to the critic Leonardo D´Espósito, film curator of the Museum of Fine Arts, “At the festival we will be able to appreciate films with a historical context (the period drama "Forbidden Dream", the beautiful black and white creation "The Book of Fishes"); the validity of the romantic comedy ("New Year's blues"); the force of adult animation cinema ("Swimming to the sea"); the enormous variety of action and suspense films ("Steel rain: the top", "The President's Man", "The gangster, the policeman and the devil ", “Hitman: Secret Agent"); the social drama (“Lady Baco”, "Brothers of a Midsummer Night"); or the sharp gaze on the feminine universe ("The house of the hummingbird", “Kim Ji-young: born in 1982 ", "The woman who escaped")”.
At the same time, D’Espósito emphasized that “Han Cine allows us to appreciate the wealth –apparently and luckily inexhaustible– of the cinema produced in South Korea” since “each film has the double characteristic of being part of a consistent filmography, and have their own style and language ".
