To celebrate your day, key meeting for the dissemination of Folklore
On the occasion of Folklore Day, Minister of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires, Enrique Avogadro and the president of the National Academy of Folklore, Antonio Rodriguez Villar, will sign a framework collaboration agreement on Saturday 22 August at 17 in a virtual meeting.
The result of this agreement is a series of actions that the General Directorate of Music, by Juan Manuel Beati, will begin to move forward starting with the launch of the “Atahualpa Yupanqui” Song Contest and the television program “Folklore at home” on the City Channel, in addition to other training and heritage projects that are under development.
In relation to the Contest, it is its first edition, it will be totally free and with national scope. As of Tuesday, September 1, registration will be open. It will be aimed at lyricists and composers who will be able to present up to three unpublished songs inspired by folklore from any part of our country. With the auspices of the Argentine Society of Authors and Composers-SADAIC, the Argentine Association of Interpreters-AADI, the National Institute of Music-INAMU, National Folkloric Radio and the Argentine Union of Musicians-SADEM, the contest will deliver through a qualified jury, three awards, y siete menciones especiales a las mejores canciones.
Meanwhile, the program “Folklore at home” will start 6 of September. It is a weekly cycle of meetings with different referents of the national folklore, in the warm atmosphere of their homes. An intimate chat to share experiences, anecdotes, music and folk art. With the conduction of Victoria Casaurang, “Folklore at Home” will air every Sunday at 21, through the City Canal. Los dos primeros programas contarán con figuras como Antonio Tarrago Ros el domingo 6 September and Marián Farías Gómez on Sunday 13 of September.
