First International Water Film Festival in El Calafate
The International Water Film Festival opened the call for productions until 10 of August, for its first edition, that will take place virtually.

This first meeting will be enjoyed through the October TV platform and in person, according to current sanitary regulations, of the 17 al 19, at the Kosten Aike Hotel in El Calafate.
The arrival of this new cinematographic encounter seeks to make visible, through audiovisual productions, debates and talks on the urgent question of water in Latin America and in the world.
In that context, the theme of the films should address issues and issues related to water, its use by man and communities, its quality of scarce resource, its condition of geographic limit and, Thus, source of possible conflicts, its use for the exploitation of other natural resources, its contamination and consequences, the effect they suffer from global warming, the problems of communities or people living in contexts in which water is a determining factor and others in which water is a co-protagonist of the story.
The Festival will have an Official Competition that will integrate both long and medium and short films without distinction, as well as the various genres in both fiction and documentary, which will be awarded by a qualified Jury and which will be announced soon.
In the framework of the festival, tributes will be made, Spotlights in agreement with other Latin American festivals and debates in virtual form that will be broadcast on the YouTube channel of the Ministry of the Environment.
It is worth noting that the festival has made agreements with entities and the press of Uruguay and Brazil to extend its area of influence in this first edition, taking into account its opening to Latin America and the world in future editions.
