Under the winter holidays, specifically designed for young audiences, the Ministry of Culture of the City, will celebrate “Lit”: the first Youth Literature Festival.

An exclusive space for books and experiences designed for young audiences that will open in downtown Buenos Aires on Wednesday 20 and two more dates, Saturday 23 and Sunday 24, in the station park.

The start of the Lit festival will be at 16 wednesday hours 20 on the occasion of the Day of the Friend and with the aim of attracting the youngest public to the literary sector of the City by touring the bookstores and spaces of the downtown area of ​​Buenos Aires.

The Magazine Store (Florida719), The Athenaeum (Florida 340), Garden Gallery (Florida 537) and Florida and Lavalle will be the meeting points. There will be illustration workshops, a parade and cosplay contest, book signing and talks by renowned authors from the youth sector, book recommendation tours, poetry jams, chats with bookstagramers, booktubers and booktokers in a radius that includes the Florida and Lavalle pedestrian streets up to Avenida.

Córdoba seeking in this way to continue promoting the reactivation of publishers and bookstores in the area. The closure will be musical and will be in charge of the multifaceted artist-singer, actress and author of the book Más Luz x Favor- Connie Isla.

The opening will be the kick for a weekend, Saturday 23 and Sunday 24, with an extensive program in the public library of Parque de la Estación (Tte. Gral. Juan Domingo Peron 3326). Which will be developed around four thematic axes: Agenda, Diversity and gender, Affective practices and comprehensive well-being. You can enjoy performances and artistic interventions, see live urban music, participate in author interviews, creative manga workshops, zine and poetry, panel discussions and talks, among a lot of other proposals linked to the literary world.

Recognized booktubers from the literary community will moderate the talks 2.0 as Almendrada Vega (@almendraveiga), Cami Ochoa (@ america.vespucia), Small (@malelovesbooks) among others, and authors such as I Acevedo and Tati Español will participate, while Lara 91K and Clara Cava will close Saturday and Sunday with live music, respectively. The activities will take place both inside the Parque de la Estación Library and outside and have the support of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Urban Hygiene and Public Space and Ministry of Health of the City. Bookfluencers were part of the collaborative work team to curate and organize the programming agenda based on the aforementioned thematic axes, and during the event they will be face-to-face and virtual hosts of the different initiatives.

Lit is jointly organized by the Network of Public Libraries and the editorial area of ​​the Impulso Cultural platform and Cultural Pass of the Ministry of Culture of the City, adding strategic allies: booktubers, publishers. Bookstores and artists. And it has the support of Grupo Planeta, Penguin Random House, V&R Publishers, Cuspide Bookstore, and Urano Editions through its Puck line.

This is the creation of a meeting space for young people with the motto "reading as an experience", with various activities. According to data from the Cultural Pass program, in the first semester of 2022 they were consumed $15.449.650 pesos through the Cultural Pass card, the main consumption being books (55%), cinema (36%) and art bookstores (9%).
