The doors of the Cornelio de Saavedra Historical Museum will reopen

This Saturday 16 July the doors of the Cornelio de Saavedra Historical Museum will finally reopen, in the framework of the celebrations for its centenary.

With a totally renewed proposal, the enclosure located on Crisologo Larralde 6309 It can be visited with free admission on Mondays, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 11 a 19 and also on saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 11 a 20 hours.

Those who attend the museum this Saturday will find a new curatorial script, why neighbors, tourists and schools from all over the country can visit it. The exhibition "Buenos Aires in images" will also be inaugurated: from the river to the city.

Through this reopening and the technological contribution, the Saavedra Museum will try to approach the youngest, even more so on vacation, in order to connect with different periods of Argentine history and the city, from a playful and didactic perspective.

The selection of the objects that make up their collections, documents, manuscripts, artworks, clothing and everyday objects such as fans and combs, interact interactively with new technologies as a bridge between the past and the present, Looking to the future.

With respect to the sample, will be curated by Raúl Piccioni and Catalina Fara, that will bring together pieces of its heritage never before exhibited together, most of them belonging to the collection of Guillermo H. Moores.

 

The reopening of the museum will coincide with the beginning of the winter holidays 2022, feel the city, with proposals for residents and tourists to experience it with all five senses. Girls and boys will be able to participate in different activities that explore the sense of hearing at the Saavedra museum.

The day will start at 14 with Sound Adventure, a playful and different tour that invites you to visit the museum rooms blindfolded. At 15, the show of La Banda de Don Florencio will be held and to close the day, families can enjoy the musical show of Mundo Arlequín.

The Historical Museum of Buenos Aires Cornelio de Saavedra has a collection of objects and documents that are part of the national heritage wealth and narrate the historical processes of Argentina and the City of Buenos Aires. It was inaugurated on 6 October 1921 thanks to the legacy of the collector Ricardo Zemborain.
