While there are still a few days to conclude the edition 32 the Mar del Plata International Film Festival, the numbers for the first five days yielded a more than positive, as they came to enjoy the traditional meeting over 75 a thousand people.

In that context, the number means a real record, since - according to official figures - it represents an increase in 20 percent compared to the previous edition.

From the opening ceremony, where Madame Hyde was screened, by Serge Bozon, movie buffs enjoy the films that make up the International competitions, Latin American and Argentina, and sections like Panorama, Focus and Retrospectives, in addition to tributes and special activities that are part of an extensive program with more than 300 feature films, documentaries and shorts.

It should be remembered that the programming ranges from premieres to restored classics, with special gender cycles, like the classic Zero Hour, and ATP proposals such as Mar de Chicos, with quality cinema for children and teenagers

Spectators tour the Mar del Plata cinemas -Ambassador, Aldrey Walk, Cinema, From the Walk-, and the rooms of the Teatro Colón and Auditorium, where in addition to watching movies, attend keynote talks or free outdoor screenings, like those offered at the MAR Museum of Contemporary Art, presented by its directors and protagonists. They are in total 16 screens at the service of this edition of the Festival that takes place from 1954 and it is the only one in the region qualified by the FIAFP as Class A (which puts it at the same level as Festivals such as Cannes or San Sebastián.).
