Retrospective Mariana Chaud in the cycle "Artist in Residence"
Within the framework of the "Artist in Residence" cycle, the Buenos Aires Theater Complex (CTBA) will hold a meeting with the works of Mariana Chaud.
There will be four shows performed by the actress and director that will take place at the Sarmiento Theater: "I keep lying" (2004), "the fact" (2005), "English pudding" (2006) and "Patagonian Ubú" (2014).
A blue man and a decadent birthday; a punk comedy about the existence of faith; readers looking to lose themselves in reading or to find themselves in words; from which place to recover the transgression when the modern became classicism. Four pieces where the biography derives from the fantastic and the canonical to the avant-garde, and in which humor always wins out over drama. A buzzy and thoughtful mood, debtor of its contemporaneity.
"Each work in the Retrospective is a new version of the original", says the author and director. "It is so inevitably. For the actors time has passed (somehow they are other) and something similar happens with the props, the scenery, costumes, light and music. Although the most precise documentary criterion governs, the appropriation is new, the approach is new and, especially, the materiality is new ".
The actors who will participate in the new versions of the works are Ximena Banús, Marina Bellati, Maitina De Marco, Marcos Ferrante, Santiago Gobernori, Veronica Hassan, Walter Jacob, Nicolás Levín, Laura Lopez Moyano placeholder image, Elvira Onetto, Valeria Roldan, Lalo Rotavería, Fernando Tur and Chaud herself.
