The renowned actor Ricardo Darín announced that he will be part of "El Eternauta", the new project that Netflix will carry out.

The production will be a series based on the famous science fiction comic created by Héctor Germán Oesterheld and cartoonist Francisco Solano López.

Darin, meanwhile, confirmed his participation in the series through statements made to CNN Radio, where he maintained that the product will be "an updated version" that will have the purpose of, extend its reach “beyond the borders of our country”.

It is worth remembering that the streaming platform's interest in bringing this story to the screen is not new, so that in 2020 the rumors started, but everything had been suspended as a result of the pandemic.

On the other hand, the brand new series had to meet certain requirements imposed by the heirs of Oesterheld, how to film exclusively in Buenos Aires and have it be spoken in Spanish.

First published in 1957, "El Eternauta" was part of the magazine "Hora Cero Semanal" and became a referential piece of the genre in our country.

Its pages recounted an alien invasion in Buenos Aires, presenting battles in emblematic places such as the River stadium or Plaza Italia, to name a few.

The series will be directed by Bruno Stagnaro and, according to Darín, He is already preparing for the role since it will be a "great mental and physical demand".
