Robert Englund, the famous Freddy Krueger, will be in “Stranger Things”
One of the most famous faces in the cinema of the '80s will join the casting of the new season of the hit Netflix series, “Stranger Things”.
It is about nothing more and nothing less than Robert Englund, perhaps the most emblematic villain of recent years in the Seventh Art, famous for bringing Freddy Krueger to life, the killer from the "Nightmare" franchise.
Englund will be part of the fourth season of one of the most successful series on the platform, that will return in 2021 to the screen, with Winona Ryder and David Harbor heading the cast again.
Krueg ... that is, Englund as Victor Creel, a psychiatric patient, interned many years ago after committing a horrible crime.
It should be noted that the character and his personality also mean a nod from the producers to the 'slasher' genre of that era.
Created by brothers Matt and Ross Duffer, “Stranger Things” está ambientada en la ficticia ciudad de Hawkins, Indiana, and follow a group of guys who, with the collaboration of an at first mysterious young woman with powers (Millie Bobby Brown) face all kinds of supernatural events.
The series was an immediate triumph when Netflix premiered it on 2016, and has since been nominated for a host of awards, among them to the Emmy of the Academy of Television of the United States (in which he won six) and the Golden Globes.
