The Brazilian production "Saudade fez morada aqui inside", making of Horacio Borges, won the Astor Piazzolla for Best Feature Film in the International Competition of the Mar del Plata International Film Festival.

Meanwhile, Argentineans Ana García Blaya and Melisa Liebenthal shared the award for Best Director for "La uruguaya" and "El rostro de la medusa". "There There" won the award for Best Screenplay.

The winners were announced at the close of the great meeting that was able to fully enjoy their attendance again. A large number of people gathered at the Auditorium Theater.

The jury of the International Competition, composed by Dolores Fonzi, Alexandre Koberidze, Alberto Lettuce, Inge Stache y Joe Swanberg, chose the film by the Brazilian director –his first solo feature– for “its ability to beautifully and truthfully portray a dramatic story that shows us that when people care about each other, there is hope".

Borges expressed his joy at receiving the maximum prize of the Festival: “In Salvador de Bahía we always hear people speak so well, so strong from Mar del Plata, that for us is always a beacon, a place of resistance that shows us that it is possible to make cinema. So being here with you is very exciting.".

With the return to full face-to-face, in this edition the Audience Award returned, and the film with the most votes in the International Competition was also “Saudade fez morada aqui entre”.

“This is a very important award for cultural workers in Brazil, because we are coming out of a very strange labyrinth, Very dark, in which we were treated as enemies of the nation. Today we are in a moment of rebirth of hope, which coincides with this award”, Borges expressed.
