The preselection of the "Sara Gallardo National Novel Award" was announced
Son 10 the works that will participate for the jackpot, between more than 100 novels that were presented.
The Ministry of Culture of the Nation, through the Ministry of Cultural Development and its National Directorate for the Promotion of Cultural Projects, announced the 10 Shortlisted works for the Sara Gallardo Novel First Prize.
This contest was launched on 8 March 2021 within the framework of International Women's Day and with the purpose of honoring and rediscovering the literary work of the writer and journalist, Sara gallardo, author of a unique and powerful work that for many years remained relegated by the literary canon.
The call - which ended on 30 April 2021- was addressed to Argentine authors, -cis, lesbians, transvestites, transsexuals and transgender-, that they will have a novel published between January 2019 and December 2020 by a national publisher.
Among the main objectives of the contest, the recognition of the creation and literary quality of Argentine writers stands out., spread the diversity of voices of the current narrative scene and, award the best work of the literary genre of novel published in our country in recent years.
Then, the 10 shortlisted novels, chosen from more than 100 books:

Among these 10 works, a single novel will be selected and its author will receive $500.000 as a prize.
The preselection jury was made up of Ana María Shua, María Teresa Andruetto and Federico Falco, who will also be in charge of the selection of the winning work. The same, will be released over the next few weeks.
