Within the framework of the GREC Festival in Barcelona, representatives of Mexico, Chile, Spain and Argentina shaped the creation of the Iberoamerican Network of Scenic Spaces (RIEE).

Powered by the Network of Alternative Theaters in Spain, RIEE was born with the purpose of articulating and projecting the artistic and scenic fabric of creation, Ibero-American independent exhibition and training.

This new entity is formed by ARTEI, Argentine Association of Independent Theater, Santiago Theater Rooms Network (Chile), Network of Organized Independent Cultural Spaces of Mexico and the Network of Alternative Theaters (Spain).

The presentation, developed in person and in streaming, it had representatives from the four Ibero-American networks that make up RIEE: Jacobo Pallarés, president of the Network of Alternative Theaters (Spain); Liliana Weimer, president of ARTEI, Argentine Association of Independent Theater; Veronica Tapia, President of the Network of Theater Rooms in Santiago (Chile) and Samuel Sosa, secretary of the Network of Organized Independent Cultural Spaces of Mexico City.

In the presentation by David Marín, member of the Board of Directors of the Network of Alternative Theaters and director of the social hall Nau Ivanow (Barcelona), the need for this Iberoamerican Network was born, which was born with two main purposes: bringing the fabric of spaces and centers into contact through exchange and the creation of networks and joint projects, and design an Ibero-American cooperation and structuring structure for the performing arts sector that works as a catalyst for creativity in project management and work models.

Weimer expressed his "thanks and satisfaction for being part of the founding networks of RIEE" and added: "We believe in work and in the fight from the collective and we trust that this path that we are beginning to walk together, going to be a great learning experience for everyone. Collaboration and exchange from solidarity, unity and organization, surely it will make us better both professionally and in our human condition. Health and long life for RIEE ”.
