This sunday is fulfilled 20 years of the issuance of the first chapter of "Okupas", the marginal series that Bruno Stagnaro made for Public Television (at that time Channel 7) and that it had Rodrigo de la Serna as one of its protagonists.

A day like today, but 2000 and from 23 "The five commandments" was broadcast, the name of the first of the chapters of this series that quickly became an unexpected success for television and today is a cult production.

Throughout the 11 chapters that history had, the viewer could see the coexistence of four friends, totally different and coming from different realities. Ricardo Riganti appeared there (the character of De la Serna), who should take care of a completely abandoned house, just at the moment when his life was totally adrift, dropping out of college and out of work.

That old house was the epicenter of history and that was developing the relationship of this very dissimilar group, composed of Diego Alonso (The chicken), Ariel Staltari (Walter) and Franco Tirri (The Chiqui). "Okupas" would later become the great success of that year, even winning three Martín Fierro awards (Best Unitary, Best New Director and Actor, awarded to Alonso).

Alonso was precisely the actor who gave his character the most complex role, being the one who handled the street codes like nobody else, drugs and crime. Perhaps the faithful reflection of what happened in marginal life, made the series have not only so much acceptance, but the excellent reviews from the press.

About this, recently in an interview, Stagnaro explained: "If something had" Okupas "and that I would like not to lose, and it's not so easy not to lose, it is that naivety in your gaze that allowed you to play and not be permanently tied to the formula of things ". It should be added that this type of story was not frequent on Argentine television at that time., that barely had a film precedent as “Pizza, beer and faso” (film that Stagnaro himself directed with Adrián Israel Caetano in 1998).

Despite the questions, orders and possibilities, the series never had a second season. Even despite having an ending that reached almost 7 rating points (something totally unpublished for productions of the state channel).

Yes it had repetitions (Canal 7 he issued it again a year later, adding a special chapter with a kind of behind the scenes) that were carried out even on other channels, as América TV and Canal 9.
