The prizes of the contest "Potencia y Política" were delivered
Recently, the Department of Culture of the Chamber of Deputies of the Nation awarded the prizes corresponding to the second theatrical contest "Potencia y Política".
Organized by the General Directorate of Culture of the Chamber, the awards ceremony was in charge of Gustavo Uano, Executive Director of the National Theater Institute, Nerina Dip and Gisela Puga, also from INT, authorities of the General Directorate of Culture of the H. Chamber of Deputies and representatives of the theater community and friends.
In total there were three awarded works, where the first place went to "Margarita and the biosphere" by Carlos Carrique (Escobar), the second prize for "The new miracle of the lobsters" by Pilar Ruiz (CABA) and the third for "Die Alive" by Leonardo Volpedo (CABA).
Unlike the first edition, where the competing works were related to the Preamble of the Constitution, on this occasion the theatrical pieces had to focus on the article 41, related to the care of the environment.
The works addressed issues such as the thinning of the atmosphere, the cosmogony of the native peoples of Patagonia and the preservation of the Tucuman yunga.
In addition to the three awarded works, the jury also made four special mentions without order of merit, which were for “Aluvión” by Patricia Suárez (Rosario, Santa Fe), “Cayetana. The mother of the new mountain” by Merceditas Elordi (Mar del Plata), "Volcano of Witches" by Víctor Malagrino (CABA) and “Verde agua” by Marina Lamarca (CABA).
The selection of the winning works was in charge of the playwrights Andrea Garrote (CABA), Sandra Franzen (Santa Fe), Jorge Onofri (Black river), the specialist in Environment Cristina Maiztegui (Buenos Aires) and the National Deputy Leonardo Grosso (Buenos Aires), Chairman of the House Committee on Natural Resources.
Regarding the winning works, The Jury concluded that "Margarita and the Biosphere" was "a comedy with a simple and forceful stage device that immerses the characters in a drama that progresses while the atmosphere thins without pause above their heads".
Meanwhile, "The new miracle of the lobsters" has been chosen because "it runs with great fluidity of dialogues and a very well developed structure, that intertwines the story of the characters with the environmental problems of the north of the country”.
Finally, "Die Alive" took third place because it "highlights the environmental approach of native peoples, to whom the elements of nature are sacred".
In this opportunity, The contest received almost a hundred texts from different parts of the country, like Buenos Aires, CABA, Santa Fe, Córdoba, saint Louis, Between rivers, Salta, Corrientes, Jujuy, Chubut, Neuquén, Catamarca and other provinces.
Regarding the next edition, will be related to the commemoration of forty years of democracy.
