He inaugurated a mural by 25 years of brotherhood between Berlin and Buenos Aires

Authorities belonging to the cities of Berlin and Buenos Aires met to present an artistic mural in the Cultural Space Carlos Gardel that commemorates the 25 years of brotherhood between these two regions.

In the area located on Olleros 3640 they met on Buenos Aires Minister of Culture Enrique Avogadro, Berlin Mayor Michael Muller, special guests from the artistic world, cultural representatives of Goethe Institute, of the German Embassy and the City.

With the title “Freedom”, the German artist group Die Dixons integrated by Jörni, Bolle and Kimo along with Boogie, Size Two, and the Argentina Fio Silva, presented the work that involved the façade of the building cultural.

Height, member of the European artists collective made emphasize the “great honor” that “painting in the name of ‘Freedom’ means to our hometown here in Buenos Aires”.

In turn, the artist highlighted that “the Space team Cultural Carlos Gardel and all the neighbors were very kind to us, they have been like a new family. We really feel at home”.

While, Argentina's Fio Silva said that being part of This initiative “was very good” since it allowed “being able to share with the Berlin artists this work together”. And I add: “We try to reflect the two cities in the same concept of freedom. That's why I incorporated into the design pigeons and the National Flower of ceibo. There are also light blue and white leaves”.

during his speech, Minister Avogadro thanked the Mayor of Berlin Michael Muller for his participation in the Third Summit International of Cultural Cities and for sharing the celebration of the 25 years of twinning between the two cultures and advanced “we will have a joint agenda with focus on independent culture, memory and diversity of both cities. We will continue to weave this relationship with more joint cultural activities, because international cooperation is also one of the tools to promote culture”.

Finally, The German official highlighted that after 25 years “the brotherhood between our cities was maintained despite the distance, and we continue to learn from freedom and our different cultures. Berlin and Buenos Aires share the variety, from street artists to the most consecrated ones unite us and enrich us all”.
