With the participation of 14 countries and the projection of 19 films, between the first and the 30 May the second stage of the XVII edition of the European Film Encounter will take place (ECE), presented by the Delegation of the European Union in Argentina.

Productions from Germany will participate in this second stage, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Slovenia, Spain, Finland, France, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Sweden. All can be seen online and for free, through CineUEArgentina.com.

On the other hand there will be a series of activities that join the programming on the occasion of the Month of Europe, so called because the 9 May every year Europe Day is celebrated. The European Film Meeting is coordinated by the Delegation of the European Union in Argentina, in collaboration with the embassies and cultural institutes of the EU Member States present in the country.

With a renewed program and a look with a gender perspective, titles invite reflection on inequality, empowerment, discrimination and exclusion, among others.

This year, various collaborations will enrich programming and special events. First, the European Film Meeting joins the Spotlight Initiative, promoted by the United Nations and the European Union to eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls, in a reflection activity based on the joint analysis of a programming film that touches on the theme of violence.

Turn and, in order to enhance the scope of common themes such as gender, integration, and immigration, The ECE worked closely with the 19th International Human Rights Film Festival (FICDH) to jointly present the French film A Girl (Little girl) within the framework of the programming of this edition.

By last, to celebrate Europe Day and meet the cinema in person (if the sanitary conditions and if the regulations in force allow it), The Kirchner Cultural Center will receive a film from the European Cinema Meeting that will be screened free of charge and open to the public in the Sala Argentina, following all the pre-booking and security protocols in force on the date of the screening.
