Double Fantasy, record that John Lennon autographed Mark David Chapman before he was shot to death, was put up for sale by Moments in Time, firm specialized in the commercialization of autographed objects, letter certification, signed photos and manuscripts.
According to what is indicated by the company on its website, the price of the copy is 1,5 million dollars and was signed about five hours before Lennon's shooting murder, happened in december 1980, by Chapman, who to this day remains a prisoner in Wende Prison, where he is serving a life sentence.
That fateful monday 8 from December, Chapman was stationed at the entrance to the Dakota Building in New York, place where he waited for the ex-Beatle to leave and attacked him with four shots that landed on the musician's back, who died on the way to the hospital.
En su huida, Chapman threw the Double Fantasy record, which was later found in the garden of the aforementioned building, where the victim lived with her partner, Yoko Ono.
This disc, also, served as evidence for the prosecution in the trial against the murderer who today has 62 years. The album cover is a photograph of John kissing Yoko and the singer and guitarist's signature appears on the area of his wife's neck..
After the trial, this historical document was returned to the person who found it, along with a thank you note, according to Bob Zafian, spokesman for the firm Moments in Time, adding: "We are delighted to put on the market a piece with so much historical significance".
It should be noted that Double Fantasy had been released just days before the musician's murder. This is the seventh studio album, released by Geffen label.
It is also considered the most expensive album in history, since it had previously been auctioned in 2003, reaching a price of 525 one thousand dollars.
