Itaú the tenth edition of Visual Arts Award is made
From Wednesday 15 from May to 16 June will be carried out at the National House of the Bicentenary the tenth edition of the prestigious Visual Arts Award Itaú.
This meeting will turn appreciate and reward the works of several artists under the heading installation, Photography, engravings, ceramics, sculpture and objects, videos, painting, drawing and robotic art, among other techniques.
The selected artists belong within the entire national territory and compete in this exhibition featuring curated by Adriana Lauria and coordination of Eugenia Garay Basualdo.
This important issue, the President of the Foundation said José Pagés: "We knew we did not want to make a living like everyone else," adding that "the proposal should be distinctive, based on the interests of those who could not find a place to express themselves. And it must be done according to our values: fairness and transparency. ... If there is something we want to celebrate these 10 years, It is to have been the vehicle for emerging artists begin to be recognized, validated, appreciated ".
For this tenth edition, the call had a total of 2329 Applications, of which were shortlisted 209 Projects, from which they emerged 60 finalists. In this arduous task worked 18 jurors selected among professionals from different branches of art from various areas of Argentina.
The selection panel was composed of Manuel Amestoy, Fernanda aquea (Santa Fe), Laura Casanovas, Gabriel Chaile (Tucumán), Pablo Chiavazza (Mendoza), Marani Fernández del Solar, Miriam Gonzalo (Neuquén), Pablo La Padula, Rosalba Mirabella (Tucumán), Andrea Moccia, Sergio Moyinedo (La Plata), Santiago Porter, Inés Raiteri (Mar del Plata), Teresa Riccardi, Graciela Sarti, Fabiana Serviddio, Alejandro Thornton and Fernanda Toccalino (Corrientes).
As usual, Three prizes will be awarded acquisition: the first of 130.000 pesos, the Second 80.000 and Third 40.000, to be discerned by the jury award made by the historian and curator María José Herrera and artists Monica Millan and Raul Flores. As is to use the distinguished works will join the Collection of Contemporary Art Foundation Itaú.
