Online seminar on stories of women artists in Argentina

The National Museum of Fine Arts organizes the virtual seminar "Women on the edge of a challenged canon: stories of artists in Argentina ", with free access.

It is dictated by the curator Georgina G. Gluzman and is part of the temporary exhibition “El canon accidental. Women artists in Argentina (1890-1950)”Which was born from his research.

The seminar will consist of two meetings that will take place on Thursdays 20 Y 27 of May, to 18:00, through the Museum's YouTube channel (youtube.com/MNBAdigital). Activity concluded, the audiovisual record will be published on this platform for later consultation.

On the other hand and to learn more about the exhibition, inaugurated 25 of March, the Museum developed a microsite dedicated to her, where you can explore the 88 works that make it up, read curatorial texts and biographical reviews of the artists present and view images of the exhibition rooms: canonaccidental.bellasartes.gob.ar.

The virtual classes will provide an overview of the authors who are part of the exhibition "The accidental canon", and the theoretical guidelines on which Gluzman based his historical and artistic research. further, Fundamental concepts of feminist theory in the field of art will be discussed and the trajectories of some of the artists active in the country between 1890 Y 1950.
