This Thursday 28 In July, the III Ibero-American Symposium of Comparative Studies will begin on transnational practices and relations in silent and classic Latin American cinema.
It will run until Friday 29 and may be witnessed at the headquarters of the Library of Congress of the Nation, located in Alsina 1835 of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.
The meeting will be at the Leonardo Favio Auditorium of the cultural space, and will begin at 9.15 With free entry.

These conferences are organized by the Center for Research and New Studies on Cinema (CIyNE, FFYL, UBA) with the financing of the Agency for Scientific and Technological Promotion and the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters (Buenos Aires' University).

During the two days there will be lectures, seminars, special tables, reflections and presentations by important representatives of national and international organizations and institutions, and specialists in both the audiovisual and anthropological fields.

They are sponsors of the symposium, the National Council for Scientific and Technological Research (CONICET); Argentine Association of Film and Audiovisual Studies (AsAECA), Institute of History of Argentine and Latin American Art Luis Ordaz (FFYL, UBA), Network of Researchers on Latin American Cinema (RICILA), Films Studies Section of the Latin American Studies Association (LEAVE), National Cinema of Chile, Audiovisual Studies Group (GEstA, Uruguay), University Seminar of Cinematographic Analysis (Suacris, Mexico) and Vivomatographies. Journal of studies on precine and silent cinema in Latin America.

They are also responsible for it, the doctors Ana Laura Lusnich, Silvana Flores and Andrea Cuarterolo, while the Scientific Committee is made up of Doctors Julia Tuñón (Directorate of Historical Studies of the National Institute of Anthropology and History), Eduardo Morettin (University of Sao Paulo), Clara Garavelli (University of Leicester, UK), Georgina Torello (University of the Republic, Uruguay), Monica Villarroel Marquez (National Cinema of Chile), Ana Laura Lusnich (University of Buenos Aires / CONICET), Andrea Cuarterolo placeholder image (University of Buenos Aires / CONICET) and Silvana Flores (University of Buenos Aires / CONICET).
