“Samaritan” will be the name of the movie that Amazon Prime Video premieres in August, with the starring role of Sylvester Stallone, who will become a veteran superhero.

The renowned actor who knew how to bring to life emblematic characters like Rocky Balboa or John Rambo will now be part of this project that will arrive directly on the streaming platform, under the direction of Julius Avery, responsible for the entertaining “Overlord”.

With a background in movies like "Judge Dredd", “Guardians of the Galaxy” o “Suicide Squad”, Stallone will return to a genre that has suited him well. This time it will be a mighty hero who, in a mysterious way, missing in action long ago 25 years.

Despite this, a young fanatic still believes that the “Samaritan” is alive and will return to the streets if necessary.

to make this movie, Avery requested that while it focuses on the superhero genre, it is “dark and cool”.

Avery in turn maintained that superheroes were not seen in the films of the '80s and that "we only had action heroes". And within that context, an actor like Stallone was a perfect fit. “Sly is the closest we got to having a superhero. So that, why not put it in a superhero movie? It sounds cool and fresh and something people will enjoy.", added the director.
