After a hiatus of more than eleven years, Sudarshana, a pioneering band of Hardcore-Punk in our country, will return to the stage as part of their "Reviviendo Tour 23".

For this reason and on the eve of what will be his concert on Saturday 27 May in La Trastienda, The sidewalk interviewed Javier Casas, guitarist and founding member of the group that will tour its entire repertoire at the traditional San Telmo venue.

“We believe that one of the most important points of this meeting is having the opportunity to get together as the group of friends that we are and enjoy what we love so much., which is to live the music that we made when we were kids and that accompanied us throughout our history”, expresses the musician about one of the main reasons for this return.

Sudarshana, group that knew how to garner its followers through energetic concerts and word of mouth, will return in a context full of technology and social networks. “Not only were there no social networks or we caught the beginning of one of them perhaps in the last active stage of the band, It happened to us that we lived through the break between the analog and the digital in various aspects” details Casas, and explains that “the use of cell phones, cameras and all that today is something that everyone has access to, It was difficult for us and there was not the quality and ease of today". “As a tool, modernization and rapid access to a lot of data are very useful., We still have our vintage medium side in many of our things and we continue trying to maintain the physical format, for example in our editions”, ends.

there will be new material, What can you tell us about this??

We are working on a new album by the band that we had actually started in our activity stage, by which time we had composed quite a few songs which we reformulated and brought to a Sudar version 2023. Those models that we put together at that time, plus several other songs that we created this year will be our new album that we will release very soon.

The band's lyrics always had a very positive and hopeful message, something that always characterized them above the rest., Is the new from Sudarshana coming along that same path?? Will they venture into new sounds??

We always wanted to provide an energetic and true positive message with what we feel and want to tell, our new songs always have our essence and the message we always wanted to convey, on this new album we also try to give a sample of the duality of many aspects and how we feel about it.

Regarding sound, we always look for sounds that call our attention., that they have the essence of Sudarshana from each one of the albums that we previously composed and that at the same time are something new for the band and so that those who already know our sound can also find a new universe.

What sensations did it generate for you to meet and play again those songs that you wrote years ago?, when they were teenagers and they are hymns for their public?

Getting back together was actually feeling again what the band was transmitting to us, make the same jokes again and have fun the way we did when we were younger. Thanks for the hymns., but that is really done by the people who identify with what we show them. We make songs and tell what we feel and our way of seeing the topics we talk about, that a song becomes an anthem is actually done by the people who adopt it as their own.

What does it mean for the band to have transmitted for so long through their music the clear message in favor of animal liberation?, of veganism and that today many years later that message has become so massive so to speak?

Sudarshana will always be a band that speaks in defense of animals because from our beginning we felt their voice and we entrusted ourselves with the task of asserting and defending life and the right to it of all beings., Today, fortunately, the more respectful lifestyle with animals has become quite widespread, but there is still a lot to be done and we will always aim to disseminate and show that a more compassionate life is possible..

Why do you think this communion they have with the band is so important for their audience?? Were you surprised to have sold out the first and second pre-sale tickets in just a few hours??

Yes, we were really surprised and made very happy by the response we got when we announced our shows., not only the one we will give in Buenos Aires, but also the response we received from each of the countries we will visit and from all those who contacted us to send us their greetings and thanks.. The truth is that the band does not stop giving us joy and that is why we are very anxious and happy to be able to do this tour.

As for what happens among the people who come to see us, I have no words to express it., much of it is due to the fact that we believe that our public is the great protagonist, We offer you that position and we like you to know about it, Without them, what we do would not exist and something unique is given that we hope to repeat in each of the shows that we offer..

How would you define the spirit of Sudarshana right now??

The spirit of the band is always present in each of our songs, in which we did when we had 16/17 years and the ones we did this year were a little bigger... just a little bit more! Our spirit is to reveal ourselves with what we feel unfair and fight with our weapons with everything we want to change.

What do you want to tell your fans and readers about the upcoming show? 27 de Mayo in La Trastienda?

To the readers and to the kids who were watching us at the time and to those who never saw us live, that they come closer to enjoy and relive what they felt in our recitals and to those who were never present to live it.
