Online workshops through the networks of the Japanese Embassy

A live class to learn how to draw manga, next Sunday at 17, by comic book designer Lucas Terradas, will continue with the cycle of free activities open to the public offered by the Embassy of Japan from its social networks.

On Instagram @japanemb_arg, Terradas will address the drawing of expressions and other topics that stand out in the particular style of Japanese anime, reported from that diplomatic headquarters.

At the end of the workshop there will be a question and answer session where participants can interact with the designer and answer their questions.

Then, Saturday 24 October at 19 the conference will be held “Sashiko: classic japanese embroidery”, via Instagram, with sustainable designer Midori Akamine, who developed a conscious and friendly approach towards the environment in his time in the textile industry.

The pastry chef Ana Irie will be in charge of the last activity of the month, Saturday 31 to 19, where this Japanese descendant from Corrientes will give a talk by Zoom about Wagashi, Japan's traditional sweets.

In the conference, the bakery -which is currently part of the famous Chila signature cuisine in Puerto Madero- will talk about the history of these sweets and their importance in Japanese culture, where in addition to a food, fulfill the function of accompanying the being.

Wagashi are served with tea and are made from natural ingredients such as vegetables, presented with particular drawings and illustrations.

Every month, the Embassy of Japan proposes different free activities to enjoy from home, in virtual format, and where Kintsugi ceramic workshops have already passed, flower arrangements or the essence of Japanese calligraphy, among other.
