A single architect speak at the fair Trimarchi
Bolivian architect Freddy Mamani, responsible for a true aesthetic revolution in the Andean country, will speak tomorrow at the sixteenth edition of the design fair Trimarchi of Mar de Plata that begins today with the motto "Expedition to the cave of knowledge".
Mamani is an engineer, self-taught bricklayer and architect, recognized for his work known as New Andean Architecture or Transformer Architecture, more than 60 projects built in the Bolivian city of El Alto.
Moved by the idea of finding an Aymara architectural identity, its buildings – in general, commissioned by rich families- They are a sample of color, impudence and tradition. Unique in the world, His works challenge current concepts of beauty, simplicity and functionality.
Mamani's exhibition is scheduled for tomorrow - Saturday 15- the 17.15 at the Sea Museum at Camet and Lopez de Gomara Avenues. Other speakers are the musician Adrián Dárgelos -leader of Babasónico-, American Michelle Dougherty of Imaginary Forces; British cyborg artist and activist Neil Harbisson in collaboration with the British Council; the Spanish artist and cyborg activist Moon Ribas and the British Penny Rimbaud, among others.
