A Venezuelan curator became the artistic director of Malba

The curator and specialist in Latin American art Gabriela Rangel, Venezuelan nationality and based in New York, was named artistic director of the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (PAINTING), the institution informed.

Rangel will thus be the first woman to hold this position and “responsible for broadening the understanding and scope of the MALBA Collection; as well as the development of the temporary exhibitions program”, which will be planned together with the museum's interdisciplinary team, integrated by Victoria Giraudo, Guadalupe Requena, Leandro Chiappa and Eduardo F. Costantini, founder and president of MALBA.

Another of the tasks that will be in charge will be the coordination and supervision of Publications programs, Education and Art and Thought; the articulation with the Film and Literature departments, who lead Fernando Martin Peña and María Soledad Costantini; and collaborations with other local and international institutions.
