A record that Jimi Hendrix recorded in 1970
This Friday will be the launch of the album "Live in Maui", one of the last concerts that were recorded by the legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix and that was recorded in a volcano located in Hawaii.
The plate will not arrive alone, as it will be accompanied by a documentary video of the performance that the Jimi Hendrix Experience trio gave in Haleakala, in july 1970, just a few months before the death of the prodigious guitarist.
This is a recital, Recorded with drummer Mitch Mitchell and bassist Billy Cox, fue pensado para ser parte de la película “Rainbow Bridge”, a Chuck Wein movie, a disciple of Andy Warhol who planned a lysergic visual collage.
But nevertheless, a series of problems at the time of recording (parts were mentioned that drummer Mitchell had to re-record separately), made this material never come to light, until now.
El documental se llamará “Music, Money, Madness…Jimi Hendrix in Maui”, una realización de John McDermott, produced by Janie Hendrix -sister of the musician-.
Besides the music of Hendrix, there are testimonies of some of the people who worked on the film, of Warner Bros executives. and from Wein himself.
