Warner Music announced a deal for the full Bowie catalog
Warner Music announced the signing of an agreement with the heirs of David Bowie whereby it will now own the worldwide rights to all of his work.
Extending the current agreement with the heirs, comprising the material between 1968 Y 1999, the new license now includes the global creative output between 2000 Y 2016 that will be part of Warner Music from 2023.
A large part of Bowie's catalog entered the Warner Music team in 2013, when WMG acquired the historic London-based label, Parlophone. Since then, has embarked on a series of releases highlighting the surprising evolution of his career.
These include "Five Years", which won the NME award for Best Reissue in 2016; “Conversation Piece”, which won the Making Vinyl Packaging award from 2021 Award for Best Book + Media Package; and the award-winning "Glastonbury 2000", live audio and video from 2018, as reported through a press release.
Recent launches included the "Era" box series, each of which covers a period of the artist's career that began to be released from the 2015 till the date.
