The legendary punk rock group 1943 is about to present the songs from his brand new album "Sin Looking Back" this Saturday 29 October in the Pueyrredón Hall, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo.

As a result of this event and also to review his more than 25 years of experience, The sidewalk interviewed Diego Pele, singer and guitarist of the group born in the city of Quilmes who was anxious and enthusiastic about the upcoming recital.

"It's going to be a special show for 1943, we return to the mythical Pueyrredón hall after a long time and we will be playing songs from the new album, among other songs that cover our entire trajectory”, begins by explaining Pele.

The fact of presenting a new album, does it generate extra adrenaline on stage?

Whenever we release a new album, the expectations are great and encouraging., we trust this album and its songs a lot, it's a varied album, his lyrics talk about social problems, of hate, of betrayal and heartbreak passing through different nuances without losing the common thread that is the essence of fast and melodious punk by 1943.

How has the process of recording this album been??

Unlike the others 6 records that the band has, Much more time was spent on this, we entered the studio to compose, to record demos and record the album in the midst of a pandemic, with all that it meant. I don't know when we were going to return to normal life, that's why we don't rush and take all the time for this record, that's why we think it's a very mature material, most powerful and to which more time has been dedicated.

Four years have passed since the last album of 1943, long for a group. Even, with a pandemic in between. When asked if this influenced the compositions of the band, Pele stated that they always had “the exercise of always composing and over time things happen, we feel and see what happens to us and around us and everything is a source of inspiration”.

Is there a song that makes you most eager to present? Why?

One of the songs that I like the most is “The sad clown”. The composition of this song was an idea that I had been developing, telling a story about one of those clowns who live in and for the circus. It tells the story of a simple circus clown , whom we all see smile when he is giving his show, who amuses us with his acrobatics, his juggling and the boys laugh when he trips and falls to the floor, but behind that costume or that makeup there is a person, a human being like any other, who has family problems, economic problems or that not every day you should feel like making anyone laugh, but she wears makeup the same way, he disguises himself or as I say , she puts on her overalls to go out to work and puts all her heart into making the boys happy.

In a certain way we all have something like this clown that this song talks about, because we get up listless with all the problems that we carry with work, The twine, family problems but still and everything we go out to put our chest to this life day by day with the best vibes.

They are many years of experience with the band, from '94 to today. Many good and bad things happened to us but we got ahead and we were able to accommodate ourselves to the years that were coming, We went from pasting posters on the street or passing the cassette from hand to hand to be able to promote ourselves to having our own YouTube channel or promoting our shows on social networks, so imagine that the trip has been long but we do not deny anything, we knew how to adapt to continue traveling.

Once the disc is presented, how will the year continue for you?
