With the first novel by Ana López, the Mandragora seal was presented
"Vías de extinción" is the first work of the writer Ana López, whose launch also means the presentation of the Mandrágora label.
Created by the journalist and writer Flor Monfort and the anthropologist and bookseller Carolina Silbergleit -who also works in front of the Mandrágora bookstore-, this new publishing house comes with the proposal of a catalog integrated by poetry, stories and novels.
As for the book, the author tells the story of a woman who loses her teenage son in a train accident and, since that tragedy, In first person, she unravels the delicate fabric that links her family history to the train tracks..
Skilfully, humor and without solemnity, Ana López reconstructs the voices of her own lineage, attached sensitively but powerfully to the streets, the provincial towns, the family anecdotes that end in other losses, maybe less tragic but just as inspiring.
This new seal intends to publish books so that they are loved, so that they last, to provoke transformative journeys. The second work that will integrate the Mandrágora catalog will be "The slow repair of tissues", de Madeleine Wolff, and will be published in the middle of this year.
