More than a million people enjoyed the Night of Museums
The museum night, one of the most important meetings in the City of Buenos Aires, once again summoned a crowd that visited near 300 cultural venues.
A special programming, hundreds of free activities and shows were the great attraction of the edition 19 of this traditional cultural proposal that spread during 7 hours.
The great protagonist of this year was the Museum of Imagination and Play (MIJU), the new space dedicated to the little ones, becoming the first totally recreational proposal in the City.
There, emplazado sobre la Avenida de los Italianos albergó a gran cantidad de familias que tuvieron la oportunidad de conocer más sobre las propuestas para chicos de entre 0 Y 12 years.
In addition to MijU, they participated 37 new spaces. further, 28 city schools opened to show their spaces with activities for the whole family. The municipalities of Lobos, Tandil, Vincent Lopez and 3 of February they were twinned with the Night of the Museums of the city of Buenos Aires, with several cultural spaces.
The weather accompanied the day, in which the National Museums were also part, that opened their doors with a range full of proposals.
With respect to the latter, The National Museum of Fine Arts and the National Historical Museum were an obligatory stop on the tour.
On the other hand, The garden of the Saavedra Museum became the perfect setting to share with artists of various techniques (potters, illustrators, textiles, and much more). further, there was a bookbinding workshop, guided tours of the museum and the Nazareth School Symphonic Band and Choir show, Both musical groups belong to the Santa María de Nazareth Institute in the Saavedra neighborhood and are led by Maestro Carlos Garófalo.
The Usina del Arte participated with a program for the whole family and inaugurated “Tender Vortex Tormenta”, an installation of monumental dimensions, designed by Martin Huberman & The Normal Study, for the Central Hall of the Usina del Arte.
