Diamond Films recently revealed the first preview of "Misanthrope", film that will mark the debut of Damián Szifrón in Hollywood.

In this opportunity, the director of "Wild Tales" and the series "Los Simuladores" worked on the script for the film together with the British Jonathan Wakeham.

As the cast, the tape features Shailene Woodley (“Big Little Lies”, “The Fault in Our Stars”, “The Divergent Series”), Ben Mendelsohn (“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”, “Ready Player One”, “Robin Hood”).

The direction of photography is by Javier Juliá, also from Argentina. ("Wild Tales", “Argentina 1985”) and the original soundtrack bears the signature of the legendary Carter Burwell, author of the music of all the films of the Coen Brothers, including "Barton Fink", “Fargo”, “The Big Lebowski” and the Oscar-winning best picture “No Country for Wimps”.

The premiere in Argentine theaters is scheduled for the next 4 of May.

Regarding its plot, the film is set in baltimore, new years night. A ferocious attack produced by a single man leaves a balance of 29 dead and not a single clue. Eleanor Falco (Shailene Woodley), a withdrawn but talented low-ranking policewoman, is recruited by FBI Special Agent Geoffrey Lammark (Ben Mendelsohn) to integrate the team in charge of the identification and capture of the murderer.
