Between 20 and the 23 In September, the second edition of the International Deaf Film Festival of Argentina will take place in different venues (FiCSor), the meeting that seeks to generate greater awareness, about the deaf community, as well as spread their identity, culture and language.

With free entry, the festival will screen short and feature films, as well as documentaries made in Argentina and internationally.

Unlike the last edition, held in Tigre –where more than 5 a thousand people-, this time the meetings will be at the Palacio de las Aguas Corrientes (Riobamba 750), the Cultural Center of Memory Haroldo Conti (Liberator Avenue 8151) and the Public Defender of Audiovisual Communication Services (Adolfo Alsina 1470).

Who is behind this festival is Federico Sykes, who expressed that the main purpose is to "disseminate that, although deaf people are a minority, we have potential, talent and the same rights to access cultural property as any other person”.

It is worth noting that the FiCSor is endorsed by the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA) and the Argentine Network of Festivals and Audiovisual Shows (RAFMA). It was also declared of Cultural Interest by the Province of Misiones and the Argentine Confederation of the Deaf..

On the other hand, and besides projections, each function will then have talks and conferences, The free meeting “Argentine Cinema Under the Stars” that has been taking place hand in hand with INCAA in the Manzana de las Luces continues its programming with two new titles, as well as the realization of film workshops in sign language for deaf children and photographic and illustration exhibitions, made by deaf people.
