One of Chris Cornell's most famous guitars up for auction
The guitar that the late musician Chris Cornell used to record Soundgarden's famous and successful album “Superunknown” will be auctioned with a base of 125 one thousand dollars.
Published in 1994, the album became the most emblematic album of the group in full swing of the grunge sound. The plate was accompanied by songs that today are considered hymns such as "Black hole sun" or "Spoonman".
Regarding the instrument in question, it's a Fender Jazzmaster 1966 candy apple red (red caramel apple), which will be auctioned through the Gotta Have Rock and Roll site.
According to the auctioneers, Cornell acquired the instrument in 1993 and besides being used on the album, he also used it in several concerts. It should be noted that the album, the musician had other guitars: una Gretsch Duo Jet y una double-cutaway Gretsch Silver Jet.
Whoever put the instrument up for auction is a friend of the Soundgarden frontman, Chris Bond, who received the guitar as a gift from Cornell, just at the time he was divorcing his wife (and also group manager) Susan Silver.
The guitar includes its original case, notas de Bond, an evaluation letter from Emerald City Guitars and a certificate of authenticity from Gotta Have Rock and Roll.
