Buenos Aires will dress up to receive the best of jazz
The Buenos Aires Jazz Festival International celebrates its 17th edition with a diverse program that will take place from 21 al 24 November in different spaces of the City.
Organized by the Ministry of Culture of Buenos Aires, The event will feature jazz artists of both local and international renown, along with activities for all tastes, including concerts, master classes, clinics and jam sessions.
This year, The festival will welcome prominent international musicians such as American pianist Benny Green, the Italian drummer Roberto Gatto and the young Spanish pianist Abe Rabade. Jazz figures from the region will also participate, like saxophonist AC Afonso, who will pay tribute to Astor Piazzolla, and the Chilean bassist Eduardo Peña.
The venues that will host these shows will be some of the most representative of the city, like the Art Factory, the Recoleta Cultural Center, the cultural center 25 of May, the San Martín Cultural Center, the Golden Hall of the Buenos Aires House of Culture, and renowned jazz clubs such as Bebop Club, Jazz Voyeur Club, Prez-Jazz & Music Club, Nempla and the Nueva Uriarte Cultural Center. The program includes free activities such as the popular improvisation sessions and book presentations, in addition to master classes open to the public.
The festival will open on Thursday 21 November at 20 hours at the Presidente Alvear Theater with the Abe Rabade trio, who will present his recent album “Tempo de Cor”. as close, on Sunday 24 to 19 hours in the Auditorium of the Usina del Arte, The Mazza-Jacinto-Piazzolla trio will offer their show “Vivo en Bebop”, followed by a Benny Green concert, considered one of the most important pianists of his generation.
