After the recent celebration of the Oscar Awards and the disappointment that it meant not having been able to get the third statuette for our country, INCAA issued a statement congratulating the team from “Argentina, 1985”.

In it, congratulations were expressed to the members of the cast, address, production and technical team, for “making it this far in the race for the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Awards”.

At the same time, INCAA highlighted the task carried out by the German film "All Quiet on the Front", film that won the award.

“The Argentine film got the preselection among fifteen films nominated, and was positioned as one of the favorites among the five candidates in the Best International Film category at the 95th edition of the Oscars”, the statement continued.

Meanwhile, the acting president of the entity, Nicolas Batlle, expressed that Santiago Miter's film "has been a great window to the world, and it is not an exception, but the result of a long journey".

“Argentina, 1985” is the eighth national film nominated in that category, After "The Truce" (1974), Sergio Renan; “Camila” (1984), Maria Luisa Bemberg; "The official story" (1985), of Luis Puenzo; “Tango” (1998), Carlos Saura; "The son of the bride" (2001) and “The Secret in Their Eyes” (2009), both by Juan José Campanella; and "Wild Tales" (2014), Damian Szifrón.
