Will destine 105 million pesos for the Points of Culture program
Within the framework of the Federal Plan for Culture, where were they announced 2 one billion pesos in order to provide containment to one of the sectors most affected by the pandemic, the investment of 105 million pesos for the Points of Culture program.
This new investment will allow to support 464 nuevos proyectos que no fueron seleccionados en las primeras dos instancias de la convocatoria y terminar el año con más de 1600 organizations incorporated into the National Network of Cultural Points, which means a growth of more than 100 percent in 2020.
Until now, the Ministry of Culture allocated more than 100 million pesos to the program and benefited 472 projects from all provinces of the country. It is a historic investment for community culture in Argentina, it strengthens the work of social organizations that develop cultural projects to guarantee rights in popular neighborhoods and rural areas..
Organizations with greater territorial insertion are weighted, contemplating the representativeness of the entire national territory, as well as projects that contain proposals and strategies to develop activities in the context of social isolation, preventive and mandatory.
The Cultural Points program was created in 2011 and is part of the National Directorate of Diversity and Community Culture of the Secretariat of Cultural Management. Since then, works supporting community organizations and collectives in promoting social inclusion, strengthening popular participation, the culture of solidarity and the revaluation of local identity, with the aim of strengthening the grassroots work of local networks, regional and national that sustain the social fabric.
