Culture Points chose more than 250 projects in its new call

The Cultural Points program carried out by the Ministry of Culture of the Nation ended its second call and with it, more of 250 new projects that were chosen.

In this way, the budget of 100 million pesos that the National Culture area allocated to the call. This program aims to provide subsidies and support to social organizations and cultural groups.

Total, the second call reached 259 organizations across the country, also, The selected projects will be incorporated into the National Network of Cultural Points.

The evaluation and selection of the projects was in charge of a specialized jury made up of representatives of the National Network of Cultural Points, the Federal Council of Culture and the Ministry of Culture of the Nation, that paid special attention to those organizations that had a greater territorial insertion and that were distributed throughout the national territory. Projects that include proposals and strategies to develop activities in the context of social isolation were additionally valued., preventive and mandatory.

Of all the projects selected in this second stage, 59 They are from the province of Buenos Aires, 45 from the Center region, 45 of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, 31 Northwest region projects, 28 from Patagonia, 27 of the Northeast region and 24 of which. Regarding the different themes and work axes of the program, the distribution was: 40 artistic projects; 36 community communication; 34 community artistic collectives; 26 on cultural rights, identity and memory; 25 educational projects, sports and reading promotion; 20 projects that address food and environmental sovereignty; 25 in gender equality; 18 on social economy and cooperativism; 16 of childhood and adolescence; 11 about the culture of care and good living; Y 8 of sexual and gender diversity. Between the two instances of the call, they add 472 new organizations from all over the country to the National Network of Cultural Points, which already contains a total of 1180.

The network is made up of Cultural Centers, Popular Libraries, Community Radios, Neighborhood Clubs, Development Societies, Dining rooms, Cooperatives, Communities of Peoples Native and Peasant, and other forms of community organization that make up the social fabric.

The Cultural Points program was created in the year 2011 And since then it has worked supporting community organizations and collectives in the promotion of social inclusion, strengthening popular participation, the culture of solidarity and the revaluation of local identity, with the aim of strengthening the grassroots work of local networks, regional and national that sustain the social fabric.

This program is part of the measures being implemented by the Ministry of Culture of the Nation, through the Secretariat of Cultural Management, to accompany cultural workers in this emergency situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
