The Goethe Institut continues to bring the best of German cinema to the CCK
As it happens every second and third Sunday of every month, the Goethe Institut makes a selection of the best of German cinema to be exhibited freely and free of charge at the CCK.
The functions will be from the 18 hours in Room A on the sixth floor of the venue located on Sarmiento 151. The productions will be shown in German with Spanish subtitles.
Under the curatorship of the Goethe Institut and the CCK, the chosen films touch on the main programming themes of the cultural center, providing a contemporary reflection from the current production of German cinema.
Within this context, the work of directors such as Helke Misselwitz will be exhibited, Thomas Heise, Doris Dörrie and younger and very powerful looks like those of Janna Ji Wonders or Alison Kuhn.
In this new month that has just begun, Goethe Institut will dedicate its programming to Rainer Werner Fassbinder. Of his work, You can see two films by this creator who wanted to be part of the New German Cinema.
The first of the films to be screened will be “Martha” (1974), a satirical melodrama with an extraordinary image, that recounts the life of a childish and twisted woman defined by oppressive relationships.
Later it will be the turn of "Enfant Terrible" (2020), Oskar Roehler's biopic about Fassbinder himself. This production takes place on theatrical stages and revolves around the life and work of the artist. An ambivalent portrait between creative greatness and toxic leadership.
