The new exhibition of Luis Felipe Noé arrives at Rubbers Gallery
"Life is an abstract word" is the new and long-awaited exhibition by the outstanding plastic artist Luis Felipe "Yuyo" Noé that can be seen from this 9 November at Rubbers Gallery.
The official opening will be from the 18 and even 21 hours, With free entry. Subsequently, it can be visited from Monday to Friday from 12 a 18 hours at the Alvear Avenue venue 1640.
As usually happens every year, Noé carries out a varied set of works that reflect on the pictorial task and what we understand by "painting" today. Within that context, Rubbers will exhibit a selection of twelve creations by the artist that transfer to the plane the sensation of mobility of daily life and reflect the artist's conception of chaos: a dynamic -of which we are part- in permanent transformation.
At 89 years, Noah reflects on the multiple meanings of the word life, taking on an abstract dimension. The permanent search to achieve a balance between abstraction and figuration is manifested, in the figures that appear and disappear from his paintings (It depends where one deposits the gaze) and some paintings are transferred to the suggestive titles: "Beyond… about what?”, “Ramblings” and “To the Other Side”.
At the same time, the balance between art and life and the ironic and perspicacious humor that go through the words included in the works transmit us an optimism that is difficult to find today. “Everything is possible as long as it is absurd enough” is the header phrase that weaves together the arguments of the other pieces: "Living other people's lives", "Complex romance" or "The unforeseen destiny", for example.
