This Friday 3 June the National Symphony Orchestra will perform at the CCK, under the direction of master Carlos Vieu, as a guest.

The presentation will be from 20 hours and will also have performances by the cellist Eduardo Vassallo and the violinist Diego Vassallo.

On this occasion, the Symphony will perform the world premiere of the "Double Violin Concerto, cello and orchestra, by Alejandro Civilotti and the “Symphony No. 10, and my minor hope.93” by Dmitri Shostakovich.

Born in 1966, Vieu trained at the National and Municipal conservatories, in the classical guitar career, Lyrical Singing and Choral Direction. Later he studied piano with Francisco Votti and cello with Washington Castro..

At the National University of La Plata, He graduated as a Bachelor of Orchestral Conducting and Professor of Instrumental and Chamber Ensembles. After the Bachelor's Degree, He obtained scholarships and took advanced courses and masterclasses in several countries with the Masters Helmuth Rilling., Kurt Masur, Mario benzecry, Charles Dutoit, Romano Gandolfi and Antoni Ros Marba.

He is awarded as best Argentine director by the Critics Association, Star of the Sea award for the Galas del Mar (2003 Y 2004 in Mar del Plata), CAMU-UNESCO award (to the work of disseminating the music of national composers), and for two consecutive decades, Konex Merit Diploma as one of the 5 best orchestra directors of their country. It has also recently been recognized as “Outstanding figure of the culture of the City of Buenos Aires”.

Carlos Vieu also has an impressive track record of 20 years of teaching, activity that he still practices as Professor of Analysis of the Scenic Repertoire at the National University of Arts and Head of Orchestral Direction at the Argentine Catholic University.
