“What the night tells the day” arrives at the MAR Museum
From this one 7 from December, The MAR Provincial Museum of Contemporary Art in Mar del Plata will open its doors to the exhibition “What the night tells the day”, a tour of contemporary Argentine art.
The exhibition, originally developed for the Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea (PAC) of Milan and the Proa Foundation, comes as part of the celebrations for the 10 years of the Museum and the 150 city years.
Under the curatorship of Andrés Duprat, director of the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, and Diego Sileo, PAC curator, The proposal brings together works by more than twenty Argentine artists. The exhibition connects historical and contemporary pieces in a dialogue that invites us to reflect on society from critical and original perspectives.. Featured artists include León Ferrari, Alberto Greek, Marta Minujín, Liliana Maresca and Graciela Sacco, along with creations by figures such as Leandro Erlich, Adriana Bustos and Adrián Villar Rojas.
The exhibition takes its name from the homonymous novel by Héctor Bianciotti and seeks to capture the essence of an Argentina that, despite its periods of darkness, has known how to respond with mobilizing and protesting art. Works in multiple formats, as facilities, photographs and video performance, exhibit the diverse modes of social criticism and aesthetic approaches that characterize national art.
“What the night tells the day” will be open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday with free admission. A unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the richness and complexity of Argentine art in an iconic setting like the MAR.
