This Saturday at 22, Public Television will broadcast "Realize", the classic of national cinema directed by Alejandro Doria and starring a great cast.

The movie, that brings together a casting made up of Luis Brandoni, Dora Baret, Luisina Brando, Lito Cruz, Oscar Ferrigno, Maria Vaner, China Zorrilla, Darío Grandinetti, Fernando Alvarez, Clotilde Borella, Monica Villa, Manuel Callau and Juan Carlos Corazza, was treated within the framework of the Recover Plan, in order to re-enjoy those essential achievements of the national cinema.

On the other hand, the television presentation will be provided by Federica Pais within the framework of the cycle "Hold on to the cinema!”

Released almost 37 years, the film was read at the time as a hopeful sign associated with the new times of democratic return, by telling a story of tenacious struggle in the face of abandonment and indifference: when everything seemed to have no way out, solidarity and principles could mark a path.

A young man suffers a car accident and is admitted to a public hospital, where the medical team that treats him decides that there is no possibility that he will survive with dignity.

Abandoned to his fate also by his family, will be a stubborn nurse and doctor who will fight to save him. Parallel, the film refers to the positive and negative events that take place in a public hospital.

Realize got in 1984 the best actress award (China Zorrilla) at the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana and a year later the Silver Condor Awards for best film, best director, Best Original Book and Best Supporting Actress (China Zorrilla).

This title is part of the DAC Recover Plan (Cinematographic Argentinean Directors) and Gotika - a company dedicated to the restoration, remastering and preservation of audiovisual heritage-, that was created with the aim of preserving and updating national films that were in the process of disappearing.

“It is a concrete response to the serious state of deterioration of the national film heritage, giving you a new and perfect existence so you can continue to compete, from peer to peer, with the other technically modernized works, making the most of its cultural and economic benefits on the most diverse screens and media”, noted a statement from Public Television.
