Within the framework of the so-called “Cortázar Year”, The Culture area of ​​the City of Buenos Aires will carry out a series of activities in order to honor the famous writer upon his birthday. 40 years of his death.

Within that context, there will be cinema proposals, jazz and readings that will take place in different parts of the City and will continue throughout the entire 2024. It is worth noting that on Monday the kickoff was given with the activity “Corázar in Libraries / Jazzuela (Music and reading) whose protagonist was the writer Diego Paszkowski, who read fragments of “Hopscotch” accompanied by young jazz musicians who will perform works by Frank Churchill, Charlie Parker, Bronislau Kaper y Sonny Rollins, among others.

The tribute will continue this Thursday 15 from February 19 hours at the Recoleta Cultural Center (Junín 1930), with a free film series about the writer, his work and his influences. This activity is called “Cortázar, images of many worlds” and will offer the possibility of watching the following films:

Likewise, at the San Martín Theater on Corrientes Avenue 1530 will take place on friday 23 to 18 h a free literary meeting aimed at the general public that includes a reading of fragments of “Stories of cronopios and fames”.

New activities will be announced soon, among which are tours open to the public of the places most closely linked to Cortázar and his work, from the Historic Center to its Agronomy neighborhood or the Güemes Gallery.

As part of the “Cortázar Year”, A special day of this year's Jazz Festival is also planned, that in addition to being dedicated to him, will have a day with music clearly linked to his work.
