The Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival (BAFICI) will celebrate its anniversary with an edition full of surprises and with more than 260 films.

Between 17 and the 28 April the edition will take place 25 of the Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival (BAFICI), meeting that continues to consolidate itself as one of the most outstanding events worldwide of its kind.

For this edition more than 260 movies and 500 functions distributed in 13 different venues.

The BAFICI opening film 2024, “Alfonsina Storni Private School” directed by Lucía Seles, promises to captivate audiences with its unique approach. After the success of “Terminal Young”, Seles takes us on a comic and unforgettable journey that reflects the creativity and diversity of contemporary Argentine cinema. On the other hand, the closing film, “Fuck You! The last show”, directed by José Luis García, that transports the emblematic Obras stadium in 1987 to witness a historic moment of Argentine rock, the last SUMO presentation. With an immersive and exciting narrative, This film offers a nostalgic and moving look at one of the most memorable events in Argentine musical culture..

Regarding the Rescues section of the BAFICI, There will be the unique opportunity to rediscover and appreciate both Argentine and international cinematographic gems.. With a careful selection of films that have left their mark in previous editions of the festival, as well as notable works by renowned filmmakers, This section invites the public to immerse themselves in the rich legacy of cinema. From classics of Argentine cinema such as “Tan de suddenly” by Diego Lerman and “The possible lives” by Sandra Gugliotta to international works such as “After hour” by Martin Scorsese and “París, Texas” by Wim Wenders.

Finally, At the close of the edition, “The BAFICI Silver Book” will be presented, that the festival performed at A Sala Llena and that brings together the best stories of all this time together with the independent Seventh Art.
